In 2023, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will play on different continents. On January 19, the two all-time greats of the game can rematch on a football field. The united eleven of Al Nassr and Al Hilal will face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a friendly match in Saudi Arabia. While Ronaldo signed the largest football contract in history with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, Messi extended his deal with PSG by one year. Fans had hoped to see the pair compete against one another at the FIFA World Cup in 2022, but that was not possible. However, it’s possible that it will when PSG visits Saudi Arabia in January 2023.
Following several days of rumours, Al Nassr on Friday, December 30 posted a picture to their social media accounts announcing the historic signing of the Portuguese icon. Cristiano Ronaldo joined the team as a free agent when his contract with Manchester United was mutually cancelled.
