Travis Head, a teammate of Abhishek Sharma, disclosed a significant secret regarding the “note” that the left-handed SRH opener took from his pocket following his century against PBKS.
Abhishek Sharma, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s aggressive opening batsman, put up a spectacular batting blitzkrieg against Punjab Kings on Saturday. With two overs remaining, his team managed to chase down a goal of 246 runs thanks to the left-handed batter’s incredible 141 runs off 55 balls. Naturally, the Sunrisers were under a lot of pressure after losing four straight games. However, Abhishek’s pyrotechnics enabled the squad to climb out of the bottom spot in the standings. Travis Head, Abhishek’s opening partner, later disclosed the secret of the note he took out of his pocket when he hit the triple-digit score.Abhishek wrote, “This one is for Orange Army,” following his first IPL century. After the game, Head told the commentators that the message had been in Abhishek’s pocket since the beginning of the season. However, he didn’t have the chance to do so until the sixth game.
“I’m happy it came out tonight, Abhishek Sharma. The note has been in his pocket for six games,” the Australian hitter remarked. In a high-scoring match here on Saturday, SRH defeated Punjab Kings by a commanding eight wickets. Abhishek, who had been struggling, struck an incredible 141 off 55 balls as SRH wrote the second-highest run chase in IPL history.
“I wanted to end that losing streak, so this one is really special. It was incredibly difficult to lose four consecutive matches. However, the team never discussed it. A special thanks goes out to Suryakumar (Yadav) and Yuvi paji (Yuvraj Singh). Abhishek, whose knock enabled SRH to chase down a huge 245/6 with nine deliveries remaining, remarked, “They have been in touch with me.”He claimed that one of the reasons SRH was able to hunt down the large number was because the team’s spirit remained constant in spite of the losses.
“The atmosphere was simple even though the batters were not doing well,” he stated.
There was even more motivation to perform brilliantly because his parents were in the stands.
“I’ve been anticipating their arrival. Since my parents had been fortunate to receive SRH, my entire team was ready for them,” he stated.
The opener went on to say that the wicket’s slow pace allowed him to experiment with different shots.”I never play behind the wicket, if you’ve seen me up close enough. However, I wanted to come up with a few shots that would be easy to hit this wicket. Both he and his opening partner, Travis Head, benefited from it. We had no conversation. For us (both), it was just natural play. “The collaboration gave me a boost,” he remarked.
Because the track was so docile, SRH captain Pat Cummins stated that his bowlers had little alternatives for halting the run flow early on.
