While chasing the target of 444 runs, India faced a batting collapse on the final day as they lost seven wickets in the opening session to concede a second successive defeat in the finals of the tournament. This is the first victory for the Australia Cricket Team in the WTC, and after winning the WTC title, Australia became the first team in history to win all the ICC titles.
Team India resumed their Day 5 on 164/3, with both Virat and Rahane carrying on the expectations from India Cricket fans after a strong finish on the 4th Day as Kohli had an unbeaten 44 runs and Rahane was on 20; both of the players were looking in control. Both of them start Day 5 on a good note, but Scot Boland finally has the key breakthrough as he dismisses Virat on 49.
