Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, became the first player ever in T20I history to reach 3500 runs on Wednesday. In the current Asia Cup 2022 play versus Hong Kong, the great Indian batter achieved this milestone.

In the first over of the contest, Rohit took a run off of Haroon Arshad to complete the feat. Before the game began, Rohit had amassed 3499 runs; he now has 3500 runs.

Martin Guptill of New Zealand has amassed 3497 runs, and Virat Kohli is ranked third with 3402 runs. The Indian captain currently has the most runs scored in the game’s shortest format.

The 34-year-old has participated in every Asia Cup since 2008, making him the only Indian to play in seven of the competition’s series.

Rohit has scored 895 runs in 27 innings at the Asia Cup, averaging 40.68.
