The first female athlete to have a stadium named after her in Rae Bareli is the well-known hockey player for the Indian squad, Rani Rampal.
Rampal became the first female hockey player in India to have a stadium called in her honor when the MCF Rae Bareli changed the name of the hockey arena to “Rani’s Girls Hockey Turf.”
The MCF Raebareli has renamed the hockey field to “Rani’s Girls Hockey Turf” to honor my contribution to hockey, Rani announced on her Twitter account. “Words seem too less to express my happiness and gratitude as I share this news,” Rani wrote.
She continued by expressing her gratitude and stating that it was a proud and emotional moment for her to be the first female hockey star to have a stadium named after her. I dedicate this to the Indian women’s hockey squad and wish the upcoming female hockey players the best of luck!
Earlier this year, when the Indian team was touring South Africa, Rani returned to the team as a part of a 22-person squad.
