After declaring that he had “found love again” on Thursday, Lalit Modi, the founding chairman of the Indian Premier League, sent social media into a tornado.

The Indian Premier League’s inaugural chairman, Lalit Modi, claimed to have “found love again” on Thursday, sending social media into a frenzy. Rima Bouri, his new lover, was presented by him on Valentine’s Day 2025. The 25-year friendship between Lalit and Rima has blossomed into love, as seen by the numerous photos Lalit posted on Instagram. “Yes, that is a lucky once. But I was fortunate twice. When friendship that lasts for 25 years becomes love. Twice it occurred. I hope it does the same for you all. “Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you,” the 61-year-old wrote as the Instagram description.Based in Lebanon, Rima is an independent consultant with a marketing experience, according to her Linkedin profile.

During their brief relationship, Lalit referred to Bollywoord actress Sushmita Sen as his “better half” in a 2022 Instagram post.

The mention of “better half” by Modi led to much speculation, but the former cricket administrator later clarified in a separate tweet: “Just for clarity. Not married – just dating each other. That too it will happen one day.”

Earlier, Lalit Modi was married to Minal Sangrani for 27 years. In 2018, Minal died after prolonged illness due to cancer. The pair had two kids, Aliya and Ruchir.

Lalit Modi had left India in 2010 amid investigations into tax evasion and money-laundering. He has been in London since then. In 2013, the Indian board banned him for life after finding him guilty of the charges.Serious accusations were made against former cricket administrator N Srinivasan and his co-owned team, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), by Lalit Modi last year.

In a recent interview that included shocking allegations, Modi claimed that the IPL governing body engaged in “bid rigging” during the second edition’s auction to ensure Andrew Flintoff went to CSK. “This was done to fulfill Srinivasan’s wish,” he continued. In addition, Modi accused CSK and Srinivasan of “indirect fixing”.”Auction rigging: pick everything out. I handed Srinivasan Flintoff. Indeed, we succeeded. Every team was aware of it, so there was no question about it. Srinivasan refused to allow the IPL to take place. He caused problems for our Board. Yes, we advised everyone against choosing Andrew Flintoff. Indeed, I did—since Srinivasan declared, “I want Flintoff,” Lalit Modi stated during Raj Shamani’s YouTube program.
