Due to his 15-year tenure with the team, Virat Kohli could be considered to be a shorthand for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The team’s star player Virat Kohli, who is also known as the Royal Challengers Bangalore, has served the organisation for a total of 15 years. His IPL journey began in 2008, the year of the league’s launch. He has experienced many ups and downs with the teams since then and has become the most dominant star in the franchise. Before the current skipper, Faf du Plessis, took over in 2022, he served as the RCB’s captain from 2013 to 2021. He has aided RCB in a number of historic victories over the past 15 seasons thanks to his excellent guidance and potent batting abilities.
Star Sports aired a special segment where professional cricketers discussed their best name connected to the team: Kohli, to commemorate his 15 years with RCB. Sanjay Bangar, a former all-rounder for India, recalled a game between RCB and Punjab Kings from back in 2016 in which he played with stitches in his finger but still managed to achieve a century in just 50 balls.
Against Kings XI Punjab, Bangar recalled, “I remember a match where he played with stitches in his hand and got a 100 in a 15-over match.”That is extraordinary.
On Sunday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the RCB will play their season opener against the Mumbai Indians.
