The most anticipated match of the competition, IND vs. PAK, will take place in New York on June 9.
The ICC’s annual board meeting approved the reserve day schedule for the 2018 T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies, which begins in June. During the discussion, it was determined that the semi-finals and finals would be held on reserve days.
In the group stage and Super Eights, a game must consist of at least five overs bowled to the side batting second, while in the knockout stages, at least ten overs must be bowled. That means the June 9 showdown between India and Pakistan in New York will not be hampered by weather, if no delays occur.
Aside from that, the meeting also addressed the qualification method for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament will feature twelve automatic qualifiers. Aside from hosts India and Sri Lanka, the top eight countries will automatically qualify. The remaining seats will be filled by the next highest-ranked teams on June 30, 2024.
