The Indian Super League (ISPL) team Tigers of Kolkata advanced to the championship game of the first-ever street cricket competition in India.
After a thrilling victory, the Tiigers of Kolkata, the ISPL team, advanced to the championship match of the country’s first-ever street cricket competition. The aspirations of Kolkata as well as those of the Tiigers’ owners, Aksha Kamboj, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, were with them when they entered the field against Srinagar Ke Veer in the semi-final.
The Tiigers of Kolkata won the toss and decided to field, which many would consider a brave move given that they only allowed the Srinagar team to score 78 runs in the opening innings. Raju Mukhiya stood out as the star player for the Tiigers, taking four wickets and assisting in keeping the Srinagar batsmen at bay from the very first delivery as they appeared intent on winning. Babbu Rana, who finished off Kolkata’s first innings with three wickets at a cost of just nine runs, is also deserving of praise.
The Tiigers of Kolkata won the match with five wickets remaining after Captain Prathamesh Pawar and Munna Sheikh led the way in the batting department, amassing 41 of the needed 79 runs between them in just nine overs. Pradeep Patil received the catch of the match with a stunning diving catch that took Kolkata’s third wicket, while Raju Mukhiya was named man of the match for his skillful bowling.
With both teams vying for the first-ever ISPL championship, many predict a dramatic and nerve-wracking match between the Tiigers of Kolkata and Abhishek Bachchan’s Majhi Mumbai in the ISPL Finals. This dominant performance sees the Tiigers of Kolkata advance.
