Jhulan Goswami, a legendary Indian fast bowler who is preparing for her farewell international match, stated on Friday that her “one regret” in an otherwise illustrious two-decade career will be not having won an ODI World Cup.
After Saturday’s third One-Day International against England at venerable Lord’s, Goswami will call it quits.
Goswami, who was visibly moved, expressed her gratitude to the game for providing her prominence and noting that she would never be able to check off owning a World Cup trophy in her trophy cabinet.
In both the 50-over World Cups from 2005 and 2017, the Indian team came in second place.
