During a sting operation by a news channel, his coach Ramphal Mann was allegedly overheard discussing the hearing against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh Sharan.
The group of India’s top wrestlers who have accused Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh Sharan of sexual harassment have lost faith in an Oversight Committee member, grappler Yogeshwar Dutt, after his coach Ramphal Mann was allegedly heard giving details of the hearing during a news channel sting operation.
Yogeshwar allegedly told Mann that there was no irrefutable proof of sexual harassment allegations against the WFI president. In the nearly seven-minute video, the coach also discusses what two alleged victims said before the Oversight Committee and attributes the information he possessed to London Olympics bronze medalist Yogeshwar.
Following the telecast of the sting operation video by ABP news, Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Bajrang Punia, one of the wrestlers who protested at Jantar Mantar last month demanding Brij Bhushan’s removal as WFI president, stated that Yogeshwar’s position on the committee was now untenable.
