On the third day of the first Test match between India and England in Hyderabad, Jonny Bairstow was absolutely destroyed by Ravindra Jadeja.

In the first Test match, an Indian spinner deceived England batsman Jonny Bairstow for the second consecutive innings. Axar Patel’s unplayable delivery outwitted Bairstow in the first innings. In the second half, Ravindra Jadeja’s ingenious delivery brought Bairstow to his knees. Bairstow chose to leave Jadeja’s delivery because he thought the ball would turn away from him, but it ended up coming in and shattering his stumps. Bairstow’s expression revealed why he was duped by Jadeja’s scheme.

Batting 10 runs off 23 balls, Bairstow was utterly unable to read Jadeja’s delivery. It turned out that the ball that sent him back to the dressing room came at number twenty-four in his innings.

At one point, England was at 113 for 1, looking to be off to a strong start, but Ben Duckett’s dismissal caused a mini-collapse for the visitors. England lost four more wickets while scoring fifty more runs. Before the game went into tea, Ben Stokes was the final England batsman to go, leaving the team with a score of 172/5.
Having already returned half of the England team to the pavilion, India made a huge stride toward finishing the match in four days and taking a 1-0 series lead.
Earlier on Saturday morning, India was all out for 436 in the early session after England had reached 246 in their first innings. England is behind India by eighteen runs at Tea.

After being sent back at 421 for seven overnight, Jadeja (87 off 180 balls) and Axar Patel (44), together for the ninth wicket, shared 78 runs to give India a commanding 190-run advantage over the visitors in the first innings.

Ollie Pope and Ben Foakes were batting on 67 and 2, respectively, at the tea break.
