Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, affirms that India will not be hosting the women’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
On the day of India’s 78th Independence Day, BCCI secretary Jay Shahhad revealed that a brand-new, cutting-edge NCA will shortly be built in September during a visit to the TOI Mumbai office.
“We are going to make it available for Olympic athletes too, like Neeraj Chopra,” he disclosed. He also revealed plans for an NCA in six North East states and the seventh in Jammu, as well as plans for a cricket stadium in Varanasi, during a 23-minute talk that preceded a 15-minute presentation.
Experts have requested that the Champions Trophy should come later, but the Bangladesh series begins on September 19, Chennai. Are there worries given the unrest the country is currently going through?Jay Shah responded, “At this time, none.” Over there, a new government has just established. No doubt, they’ll get in touch with us. If they don’t, I will definitely get in touch with them. We hold the Bangladesh series in high regard. We’ll make every effort to host it.
When asked if India had any duty to host the Women’s T20 World Cup as it is India’s neighbor and Bangladesh is also the host nation due to security issues in that country, he said that question was directed for Bangladesh.
In response, Jay Shah said, “Not at this time.” A new government has recently taken office over there. They will definitely contact us. I will surely contact them if they don’t. We think highly of the Bangladesh series. We’ll try our hardest to have it hosted.
He said that the question was intended for Bangladesh when it was asked if India had any obligation to host the Women’s T20 World Cup given that Bangladesh is also the host nation because of security concerns in that nation.
