Later, in a tweet, Mbappe praised Hakimi for creating “history” and said that everyone was happy of him.

Mbappe wrote, “Don’t be sorry buddy, everybody is happy of what you achieved, you made history.

After the final whistle, Mbappe rushed to comfort Morocco star and club teammate Hakimi, who was a key component of the African team’s incredible World Cup journey.

Mbappe, who has five goals in the competition so far, contributed to both of France’s goals. He also set up the second goal with a move and shot that found an open Kolo Muani at close range.

For the fourth time in seven iterations, France advanced to the championship game, and if they win on Sunday at Lusail Stadium, they would become the first team to do it since Brazil in 1962.
