Suryakumar Yadav, an Indian batter, on Thursday downplayed worries over Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness, saying there is “absolutely nothing to worry” about and that the pace bowler is prepared to make a comeback after recuperating from a back ailment.
Since Bumrah was making his comeback from a back ailment, the team management decided to give the pacer a little more time in the opening T20I against Australia.
The India pacer hasn’t played since the conclusion of the England trip and missed the Asia Cup as a result of the injury.
Since I am not aware of any such correspondence and it is not within the purview of my department, you shouldn’t ask me about it (laughter). Physiologists and team management should respond to these.
When asked about Bumrah’s match fitness and how Umesh Yadav fit into the overall picture during a virtual press conference, Suryakumar responded, “But the environment in the team is great, and everyone is first-class fit and ready for the second T20I.”
