The alleged WhatsApp conversation of Pakistan legend Waqar Younis has been exposed online.
Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has come under scrutiny as a result of his team’s poor performance in the Cricket World Cup 2023. As Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals dwindle, some sources say that the relationship between Babar and Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Zaka Ashraf has soured. According to reports, Ashraf is not even answering Babar’s phone calls. As a Pakistani television broadcaster aired an alleged WhatsApp conversation with Babar during a show, famous cricketer Waqar Younis resorted to social media to criticise those leaking private conversations on television.
There are reports that Babar’s captaincy is under scrutiny, with the PCB debating whether the skipper should be replaced after the end of Pakistan’s World Cup campaign. Waqar was upset to see a supposed ‘personal chat’ made public as social media suspicions continued to proliferate.
The Pakistani channel displayed the following text:
“Babar, there’s also word on TV and social media that you’ve been phoning Chairman and he’s not answering. “Have you called him recently?” asked the sender, Salman.
