Rohit Sharma became the first Indian to hit 500 sixes in international cricket on Wednesday, and only the second cricketer in history to do so.
India captain Rohit Sharma became the second cricketer in history to hit 500 sixes in international cricket on Wednesday. The hard-hitting ‘Hitman’ achieved this milestone during India’s second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka. Following a thumb injury, the batter batted at number nine and smashed an unbeaten 51 off 28 balls, with three fours and five sixes. He struck the ball at an 182.14 strike rate. Despite India’s five-run loss, Rohit Sharma won many hearts with his determination, commitment, and bravery to continue batting and bring his team to the brink of victory despite injury.
With this, the batters’ total of international sixes has risen to 502.
Chris Gayle of the West Indies has the most sixes in international cricket history, with a total of 553.
