On January 11, the Balochistani coastal city of Gwadar will host the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft.
The PCB said Friday that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) player draft will take place on January 11 in the coastal city of Gwadar in the unrest-plagued region of Balochistan. England and Dubai were also being considered by Pakistan as potential locations. According to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, more information would be released later, including the draft’s date and location. Gwadar, which is at the center of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, has one of the most picturesque grounds in the nation, but no cricket matches have been played there recently because of attacks on its security posts and the surrounding areas.According to Naqvi, the choice of Gwadar was made with the intention of inspiring the following generations and bringing the game to the province’s citizens.
“Gwadar is the center of Pakistan’s economic future because of its breathtaking coastline and strategic significance. We want to celebrate the togetherness that cricket offers to our country and showcase its cultural and economic significance by holding the PSL player draft here,” Naqvi stated.
“As we take an exciting step towards marking the start of the 10th edition of Pakistan’s biggest sporting extravaganza, I look forward to welcoming all the franchises and the relevant stakeholders to the beautiful city of Gwadar.” The PCB has revealed the list of Pakistani players their teams have placed in the platinum and other categories, but the final list of foreign players available in the draft has not yet been made public. This is the first time the PSL, which was introduced in 2016, will clash with the Indian Premier League because it will take place during the same window that is typically set aside each year for the IPL.The PCB and its teams are making efforts to sign high-profile overseas players who went unsold in the IPL auction last month.
