MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, recognized D. Gukesh’s incredible accomplishment of being the youngest World Chess Champion by awarding him a monetary prize of Rs 5 crore.Gukesh defeated China’s Ding Liren in the World Chess Championship 2024 in Singapore on Thursday, becoming the 18th and most recent World Champion.
Gukesh defeated the defending champion Ding in the fourteenth round to win the title. The match was about to end in a draw when defending champion Ding made a mistake on the 55th move, giving his opponent the advantage.
