The new CEO, Todd Greenberg, will take over at the end of the domestic summer, according to Cricket Australia’s announcement on Tuesday.In March 2025, Nick Hockey, who led the team for five years, will hand off control to him.
Greenberg was most recently the CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, which represented players in discussions with the national governing body.He is also the former CEO of Australia’s National Rugby League.
“Thanks to the current administration’s efforts, the game now has strong fundamentals,” Greenberg said in a statement issued by Cricket Australia.
In order for Australian cricket to flourish from neighborhood playgrounds to the largest stadiums in the country, I want to make sure we maintain this momentum.
Hockley, his predecessor, resigned in August after five challenging years in the position. Over cricket broadcast rights, he became caught up in a bitter argument with a major Australian TV network.
His treatment of star player David Warner’s attempt to reverse a leadership suspension also drew criticism from the Englishman.
