UP Warriorz won their first game of the season by seven wickets against Mumbai Indians in Match 6 of the WPL 2024 on Wednesday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
After deciding to field first, UPW’s collective bowling performance limited MI to 161/6. Kiran Navgire then blasted a power-packed 57 (31) to set the tone for the chase, alongside captain Healy (33 off 29), as they added 94 for the first wicket.
Grace Harris (38* off 17) and Deepti Sharma (27* off 20) then delivered the closing touches after a brief hiccup, propelling UPW over the finish line with 21 balls to spare.
Chasing 162, UPW got off to a good start with Kiran Navgire and Alyssa Healy taking the aggressive route early. In the third over, Navgire went after Issy Wong, hitting four fours to bring the total to 17 runs.
