The USA cricketer expressed excitement about the T20 World Cup 2024, stating that it will be their maiden World Cup appearance.

The United States of America cricket team will be competing in the main event for the first time ever in the T20 World Cup 2024, which will present special opportunity for several stars. There are still several well-known players with roots in Pakistan, India, and other countries in the USA roster. One such athlete is Nisarg Patel, who studied in India before relocating to the US in 2003. Currently, he is eager to spend time with Virat Kohli and learn from India’s Ravindra Jadeja.

“Ravindra Jadeja is my kind of player—a left arm spinner who can also bat—so I want to pick his brains for some advice as MS Dhoni is my favorite player but he is now retired. Therefore, I can really benefit from even a tiny tip from him,” Nisarg told ANI.
Speaking about the T20 World Cup in 2024, the American cricket player expressed his excitement about competing in their first World Cup.
“We can’t wait to get started. The T20 World Cup has been anticipated for a long time; even US cricket players are thrilled about the chance to compete in the World Cup for the first time.

We can’t wait. People have been waiting for this T20 World Cup for a long time, and even US players are really excited. It’s a great opportunity for us to participate in the World Cup for the first game. We are thrilled that our hopes are coming true and that we get to play against powerful teams like India and Pakistan,” he continued.

“Even if we get five to ten minutes to talk with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah then we will make the most of that opportunity to learn something from them,” Nisarg added.

Prior to the international tournament, the United States of America announced their 15-person squad for the Twenty20 World Cup. After being included in the American squad, Corey Anderson will be among a rare group of cricket players who will represent two distinct teams.

Along with some well-known players from their recent T20I series victory over Canada (4–0), the USA lineup also includes players from other notable backgrounds. The team will be captained by 31-year-old wicketkeeper batter Monank Patel.

Known figures such as Aaron Jones, the player with the most caps, Saurabh Netravalkar, and opener Steven Taylor, who leads the United States in runs scored in international cricket, are also included. A debutant in the same series, off-spinner Milind Kumar, is also a member of the team.

USA squad: Monank Patel (C), Aaron Jones (VC), Andries Gous, Corey Anderson, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh, Jessy Singh, Milind Kumar, Nisarg Patel, Nitish Kumar, Noshtush Kenjige, Saurabh Nethralvakar, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Steven Taylor, Shayan Jahangir. Reserve Players: Gajanand Singh, Juanoy Drysdale and Yasir Mohammad.
