Rising Indian archer Vaishnavi Pawar, funded by the Punit Balan Group, stunned with her spectacular performance as the Indian team won the silver medal in the recurve U-18 women’s team category.
Rising star Vaishnavi Pawar, sponsored by Punit Balan Group, dazzled with her outstanding performance as the Indian team won the silver medal in the U-18 women’s recurve team competition at the 2024 Asian Youth Archery Championship in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei. The three-person Indian team, which also included Jannat and Pranjal Tholiya, usually started with Vaishnavi in the first shot in each round. Vaishnavi managed to handle the pressure admirably as they defeated the formidable South Korea in a shoot-off in the semifinal.Similar circumstances faced the Indian team when they overcame a 2-4 deficit to force a gold medal shoot-out against the hosts, who ultimately won.
“To represent India with my teammates makes me feel immensely proud. We are committed to keeping pushing for more after defeating South Korea in the semi-finals, which was a huge accomplishment for us. I am particularly appreciative of the Punit Balan Group’s steadfast assistance, which has been crucial to my journey so far. Silver at the Asian Youth Archery Championship is evidence of our perseverance and hard work, and it motivates me to set even higher goals for the future,” Vaishnavi said.
The Punit Balan Group, pleased by Vaishnavi’s prodigal potential, gave financial help in July of last year. Vaishnavi is currently training in Pune, but she originally hails from Malkapur Village in the Latur area of Maharashtra.The 16-year-old receives equipment and other support from the PBG in addition to financial assistance for her training and competitions.
