Litton Das, who was brought by KKR for Rs 50 lakh in the auction last year, was released after only one game against the Delhi Capitals.
Johnson Charles was appointed as the Kolkata Knight Riders’ substitute for Litton Das for the remainder of the Indian Premier League on Thursday. Das returned to Bangladesh last week owing to a family medical situation. The 28-year-old, who was acquired by KKR for Rs 50 lakh at the auction last year, was released after only one match against Delhi Capitals.
Charles, a wicketkeeper-batter, has played 41 T20Is for the West Indies, accumulating 971 runs. He was also a member of the team that won the ICC World Twenty20 in 2012 and 2016.
He has also played 224 T20s and has over 5600 runs to his name.
He joins KKR for a fee of Rs 50 lakh.
