Virat Kohli reached his 71st ODI fifty on his 35th birthday, scoring a 67-ball fifty against South Africa that included five fours. This is Virat’s sixth fifty in his past eight ODIs.

Virat became the sixth Indian to reach a fifty in one-day internationals on his birthday. Kohli currently has the second-most half-centuries in Indian history. Only Sachin Tendulkar has more fiftys than Virat, who has 119.

In this ICC World Cup, Virat Kohli also scored 500 runs. In this edition, he became the first Asian to score 500 runs or more. Virat had 442 runs in seven matches prior to the start of the match.
