The front pages of Australian newspapers have been dominated by Virat Kohli as the Indian cricket team is welcomed with headlines in Punjabi, Hindi, and English.

The Australian media has been enamored with Virat Kohli despite Rohit Sharma being the captain of India’s Test team. The batting star of the Indian cricket team stunned the cricket world by making it into the front pages of multiple Australian newspapers on Tuesday morning. The majority of newspapers featured Virat’s photos, but Yashasvi Jaiswal, another up-and-coming talent who has begun to garner popularity in Australia, was also included in a few of them.Yashasvi Jaiswal is featured on the back pages, while Kohli dominates the front pages. With the heading “The New King” in both Punjabi and English, the Herald Sun devotes a whole page to Jaiswal. In a lengthy article, The Daily Telegraph calls Jaiswal India’s most aggressive opener since Virender Sehwag.

The Daily Telegraph is planning an eight-page print and digital wrap in English, Hindi, and Punjabi to commemorate the five-match series. It will be published in The Advertiser (Adelaide), Herald Sun (Melbourne), Courier-Mail (Brisbane), and The Daily Telegraph (Sydney).

Described as one of the “greatest rivalries” in Test cricket, Australia will be looking to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy again, something they haven’t had since 2015. After two straight series losses to India at home, several Australian players, including captain Pat Cummins, have stated their desire to reclaim the championship.
