To qualify to the WTC final without relying on other outcomes, India must win four or more matches in Australia.

New Zealand’s recent thumping of India at home has cast doubt on the Rohit Sharma-led team’s chances of making it to the World Test Championship (WTC) final. In order for Rohit and his side to get to the WTC final without relying on other outcomes, they must win at least four of their five-match Test series against Australia, which begins later this month. Former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja, however, believes the squad will defeat Australia in Australia once more.Although Jadeja called the series loss to New Zealand a “wake up call,” she believes that the team’s current players have a wealth of experience playing and winning in Australia.

“Sometimes you need a wake-up call. Despite being the top team and having the best captain, we won the (T20) World Cup this year, and Rohit Sharma is suddenly being criticized for his poor movement. He has my sympathy. I think we can win the series even if we don’t make it to the World Test Championship final. Unlike previous times when players only traveled to Australia every eight years, our team has more experience from numerous visits. At a function in Rajasthan, Ajay Jadeja declared, “Now that we have nothing to lose, we’ll be a dangerous side.””If Rohit and his team want to win the series, star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will have to play a huge role,” Jadeja said, referring to him as one of India’s greatest.

“Pant will remain among India’s top players as long as he is playing. The difficulty is in not inhibiting his inventiveness. The more you attempt to control such athletes, the less brilliant they become. The sword has two sides. At that point, mental training is just as important as physical training. An excellent example is Bumrah, who followed his gut and persisted even after being counseled to alter his behavior as a teenager. That belief is amazing when combined with mental tenacity,” he continued.
