However, the cherry on the cake was RavichandranAshwin’s three-ball cameo in the penultimate over of the Royals’ chase.

The cherry on top of the cake, however, was Ravichandran Ashwin’s three-ball cameo in the penultimate over of the Royals’ chase. After Mohammed Shami had picked up the important wicket of DhruvJurel, RR needed 17 runs off 10 deliveries when Ashwin smashed the GT star for successive boundaries.
Ashwin began with a four-to-short delivery, and then on the very next ball, he took the aerial route and smashed a six. Hardik Pandya has a stunned expression on his face as Ashwin takes Shami to the cleaners. He looked visibly annoyed and screamed in anger at the GT fast bowler after the four. After this, Hardik had a resigned look on his face following the six from Ashwin.
Mohammed Shami eventually took the wicket of Ashwin, but it was too late. ShimronHetmyer eventually finished the match in the second delivery of the final over with a six towards deep midwicket.
This was the second defeat of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL season 2023 on their home ground.
