The Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai was packed as India crushed Pakistan 4-0.
India destroyed Pakistan 4-0 in a round-robin encounter in the ongoing Asian Champions Trophy, drawing a packed house at Chennai’s Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium. India used their penalty corners to demonstrate their superiority over Pakistan, scoring two goals through Harmanpreet Singh and one through Jugrag Singh. India advanced to the semifinal without losing thanks to a field goal by Akashdeep Singh in the last quarter.
Inside the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, spectators erupted in “Vande Mataram” before the game. The same video has since gained popularity on social media.
Akashdeep capped off the game with a stunning field goal in the fourth quarter.
India now leads the rankings with 13 points after four wins and one draw.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for Pakistan, who were eliminated from the competition on goal difference.
Pakistan needed to at least draw or lose by one goal to advance to the semifinals.On Friday, India will face Japan in the semifinal, while Malaysia will face Korea.This was India’s ninth victory over Pakistan in the previous 11 games.
