Watch: Deepak Chahar of CSK attempts to run out SRH star at non-striker’s end and gets blasted on the internet
During the fifth over of the SRH innings, Deepak Chahar, a pacer for CSK, seemed to be trying to run Aiden Markram out at the non-striker’s end.
The Chennai Super Kings lost to SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024, making it a miserable evening for them. This was their second straight defeat. With the exception of Shivam Dube, none of the CSK hitters could find any rhythm when batting first. In 20 overs, they could only muster 165/5. Thanks to some tremendous hitting from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, SRH got off to a great start in Reply. They actually crushed the previous IPL record for the fastest team fifty in 3.3 overs.
SRH completed the chase in 18.1 overs, losing only four wickets. In the fifth over of SRH’s innings, CSK pacer Deepak Chahar appeared to try to run out Aiden Markram at the non-striker’s end. He paused before delivering, but Markram did not leave his crease.

Following Abhishek’s devastating 27-run demolition of a dazed Mukesh Chaudhary in his debut match, he had a 60-run partnership with Travis Head (31 off 24 balls) for the second wicket in seven overs. As SRH had now won both of their home games, and CSK had already lost two straight away, the contest was declared over there. The first delivery bowled by Deepak Chahar was an opportunity for CSK, but Moeen Ali dropped Head off it.
Following that, it was chaos as 23-year-old Abhishek smashed two fours and three sixes off Mukesh, who was obliged to start in place of Mustafizur Rahaman, who had taken a one-match vacation to return home and file his US visa application. Mukesh was all over the place in his first competitive appearance in 16 months and will once again warm the benches when Mustafizue returns in the next game.
