A dog disrupted play during an IPL 2024 match between the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat Titans.

Jasprit Bumrah’s masterful effort and Gerald Coetzee’s two-wicket haul helped Mumbai Indians (MI) restrict Gujarat Titans (GT) to 168/6 in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium. Bumrah surrendered only 7 runs in his final over, finishing with 3 for 14 from four overs, while Coetzee took two wickets. Sai Sudharsan led GT with 45 points out of 39, while Shubman Gill had 31 points. Hardik Pandya, who chose to field first, opened MI’s bowling attack, conceding 20 runs in his first two overs. Jasprit Bumrah grabbed first blood in the game’s fourth over, providing a significant breakthrough for his team.

MI began to feel the pressure after GT got off to a blazing start, but Bumrah saved the five-time champions with a toe-crushing yorker as Wriddhiman Saha (19 off 15) missed the ball that rattled his stumps.

Piyush Chawla then bowled an excellent delivery to dismiss GT sipper Shubman Gill for 31. Sai Sudharsan then took over, hammering Naman Dhir with two boundaries and scoring 13 runs off the over.

Azmatullah Omarzai blasted Chawla for two sixes and 17 runs in the 11th over of the game.

Gerald Coetzee then joined the wicket-taking celebration, claiming his first IPL wicket and dismissing Azmatullah Omarzai for 17. Omarzai was beaten by pace as he hit the ball high in the air, and Tilak Varma caught it at backward square.

Sai Sudharsan and David Miller then helped GT restore its innings. Bumrah dealt GT back-to-back punches in the game’s 17th over, outfoxing Miller for 12 and well-set batter Sudharsan for 45.

Rahul Tewatia smashed Luke Wood for 19 runs, including two boundaries and a six.

Coetzee then dismissed Tewatia for 22 in the game’s final over, assisting MI in limiting GT to 168/6 in 20 overs.
