The former opener of the Indian Cricket Team, Gautam Gambhir, is a part of the commentary panel for the Asia Cup 2023.

Former batsman Gautam Gambhir found himself in trouble once again during the India versus Nepal match in the Asia Cup 2023. Gambhir was caught on camera showing his middle finger to the crowd when they were chanting the names of Dhoni and Kohli in order to tease him. Currently, Gambhir is part of the commentary panel for the Asia Cup 2023. Now he has come out in the open to explain the incident and said that he replied to people who were chatting about anti-India slogans.

Watch the video here.
While explaining the incident, Gambhir said, “Whatever is shown on social media is not always the true picture, as people can show whatever they want to. In the viral video, the truth is that when you raise anti-India’ slogans and chant bad things about my country, India, and say bad things about Kashmir, then anyone will react like this only, and he will not just laugh and ignore these things.”
Gautam Gambhir also added, “There were two-three Pakistani people in the crowd who were chanting anti-India slogans and were talking ill about India and Kashmir. My reaction came naturally, as I cannot tolerate anything bad being said about my country. If somebody is personally abusing me, then what do you expect? I walk back, smiling. I am not that kind of person; I know how to give it back.
