Following a pivotal point in the test, Kevin Sinclair did something that no one could believe.
In a thrilling celebration on Day 2 against Australia, Kevin Sinclair, the West Indies cricket team’s rookie, claimed his first Test wicket.
With the ball, Sinclair scored a half-century late on Friday to take out Usman Khawaja, which was a vital wicket for the West Indies, who had previously made 311 in the first inning.
The only player from Australia among the top five to reach double digits was Khawaja, who appeared headed for a century at the Gabba. Sinclair, however, had other ideas. He discovered the edge, giving Alick Athanaze a simple catch at first slip. The celebration for the wicket was fitting given its significance in the overall outcome of the game.
A cartwheel and a backflip were performed by Sinclair, who had already given up 48 runs in less than six overs, in a spectacular sequence.
The breakthrough sprang out of nowhere, and Alister Nicholson exclaimed, “The celebration is 10/10.”
