Warrican concluded with a 9 for 70 total as the West Indies won by 120 runs to tie the series.
On Monday, January 27, at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, the West Indies crushed Pakistan by 120 runs on Day 3 of the second Test. Jomel Warrican, who claimed his second five-wicket haul of his Test career, was the visitor’s star. The left-arm spinner caused a stunning collapse in the first session itself by spinning a web around Pakistan’s batters and recording statistics of 5/27 in 16 overs. With Saud Shakeel (13) and Kashif Ali at the crease, Pakistan resumed their innings at 76/4 to start the day. Kevin Sinclair grabbed Shakeel at first slip in just three balls, giving the Windies the opportunity to chill the Pakistani dressing room. In the very next over, Jomel Warrican broke Kashif Ali’s stumps, leaving Pakistan reeling at 76/6. More suffering was in store for the hosts.
Mohammad Rizwan saved the club from trouble with his tough 49 in the first innings, but the strain was back on him as the hosts lost both overnight hitters without scoring a single run. Salman Agha was at the wicketkeeper’s crease with him as they battled to keep Pakistan in the match.
In the middle, the West Indies bowlers were using the spin-friendly surface to their advantage and continued to create possibilities for a wicket, but Rizwan and Agha added 39 runs for the seventh wicket.
