Bangladesh fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib made headlines on Saturday after delivering a heated send-off to Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli during their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 game. Tanzim castled Kohli and then celebrated aggressively, which sparked social media criticism. While social media users had diverse reactions to the situation, another cricketer who once bid Kohli farewell has joined the discussion. West Indies fast bowler Kesrick Williams famously gave Kohli an infamous ‘notebook’ send-off, which led to the India star throwing him to the cleaners during a match in 2017.Williams resorted to social media to respond to a meme in which his modified image appeared to warn Tanzim to prepare for a similar attack. On his Instagram story, he remarked, “Kez 2-1 Kohli,” quoting the meme.
“It’s just his enthusiasm for the game; he’s got a flair for indetermination and a will to score runs. You know, he gets a lot of criticism, which is not fair. I’m not sure why he does that, but there are a lot of people out there who are huge Virat fans, including all of us,” he stated on news reports.
“Now, we’re in awe of the great players that have played this game, and we’re fortunate to take the field with. So, you know, for him, he consistently goes about his business how he does. You know, he scores a lot of runs. He’s a good team man and he competes hard. And that’s what we like about coming up against the Indian cricket team,” he added.
