Kapil Dev, India’s World Cup-winning captain in 1983, has said he wants to’slap’ Rishabh Pant after he recovers from a horrific car accident.
Rishabh Pant, India’s wicket-keeper batter, is still out after suffering serious injuries in a car accident on December 30. The nature of the accident was such that Pant’s car caught fire, but he was able to escape in time. As Pant continues his recovery, Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev joked that he wants to slap Pant as soon as he recovers from the injuries he sustained in the near-fatal accident.
Kapil Dev stated that Pant’s absence has left the Indian team in total mess. Kapil intends to slap Pant after he has recovered, just as parents have the right to slap their children when they make mistakes.
“I have a lot of feelings for him. I want him to recover so I can slap him and tell him to take care of himself. The entire team is in disarray as a result of your mishap. I adore him, but I am also angry by him. Why do such modern-day youth make such mistakes? It should result in a slap.
“First and foremost, may the Almighty bless him with all the love in the world, as well as good health. First and above all else, parents have the responsibility to slap their children if they make mistakes “said the legendary cricketer.
Pant has had several surgeries since his accident. The cricketer had multiple burns after his car caught fire as a result of the accident. The 25-year-old is expected to miss a significant amount of time. He will undoubtedly miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023, and a return to cricket this year appears to be a lofty goal at the moment.
