Star Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has his sights set on the season-ending World Tour Finals, but he acknowledged that he will need to improve in order to remain competitive in the remaining tournaments.
Prannoy, one of the most reliable players on the international tour this year, has frequently advanced to the quarterfinals and semifinals, but a championship has evaded him.
The 30-year-old from Kerala just took the number one spot in the most current men’s singles HSBC Race To Guangzhou rankings away from Danish Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen.
He has competed in 13 tournaments on the BWF World Tour this year, and he now holds the lead with 58,090 points. Top 8 finishers earn a spot in the World Tour Finals, which will take place in Guangzhou from December 14 to December 18.
