In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal stated that he “enjoyed” his batting from the outset following an undefeated 104-run effort against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Monday. Jaiswal reached the 104-run threshold at a strike rate of 173.33 with 60 balls. During his tenure on the crease, he hit nine fours and seven sixes. With the help of the 22-year-old’s century, the Rajasthan-based team defeated MI by nine wickets. Jaiswal stated during the post-match press conference that he carefully observed the ball before making the shots. The child also expressed gratitude to his elders for mentoring him.

“Many thanks. I had a great time right from the beginning and made sure to observe the ball and perform correct cricket shots. I am attempting to do what I am doing well; on some days it goes well, on other days it doesn’t, and I don’t mind. I am grateful to all of my seniors for their guidance. I express my gratitude to the Rajasthan Royals management, particularly to Sanga sir and Sanju bhai, for providing me with these possibilities. I’m really delighted today because I go out and give it my all during practice,” Jaiswal remarked.

MI chose to bat first after winning the toss. The Mumbai-based team’s only two outstanding batsmen in the first innings were Tilak Varma (65) and Nehal Wadhera (49). MI was pushed to 179/9 by the knock of Varma and Wadhera.

After taking five wickets in his four-over performance and conceding only eighteen runs, Sandeep Sharma spearheaded the Royals’ bowling attack. Trent Boult had two wickets in the bag.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (104) led the team to victory over MI by nine wickets during the run chase, giving the hosts their seventh victory of the year.

The bowling assault for Michigan performed clumsily. The visitors’ lone wicket-taker was Piyush Chawla. After the victory, RR has 14 points, which puts them atop the IPL 2024 standings. With six points, MI is now ranked eighth.
