On the opening day of the Fifth Test, India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav delivered an unplayable delivery that broke England batsman Zak Crawley’s stumps.
In the second session of Day 1 of the 5th Test against England, left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav of India unleashed his inner Shane Warne, dismissing the well-established Zak Crawley. Crawley was excellent in picking up Indian bowlers up until he faced this delivery from Kuldeep. However, he was totally duped by the aforementioned delivery from the chinaman spinner. Everyone watched in shock as the ball found the tiny space between Crawley’s bat and pad and destroyed his stumps. Additionally, reports indicated that the ball rotated beyond 10 degrees.
The visitors could not take advantage of the two mediocre partnerships, which were 37 between Crawley and Joe Root (26), for the third wicket, and 38 between Root and Jonny Bairstow (29), who was the 100th Test player, for the fourth wicket.
In fact, as R Ashwin, who is playing in his 100th Test match, and Ravindra Jadeja also got involved, the tourists lost the last five wickets for just eight runs.
Spinners took all ten wickets in the innings, with Ravichandran Ashwin taking four and Ravindra Jadeja taking just one. In 57.4 overs, England was eventually knocked out for 218.
