In a nail-biting match at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by one wicket to win their second straight game. In a nail-biting match that came down to the last ball, LSG orchestrated a one-wicket victory. In the game’s opening innings, Bangalore batted first and scored 212/2 thanks to half-centuries from Kohli (61 off 44), Faf du Plessis (79* off 46), and Glenn Maxwell (59 off 29).
In response, Lucknow scored an impressive victory through to powerful hits from Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) and Marcus Stoinis (65 off 30).
After the game was over, the videographer captured the wild celebration of LSG coach Gautam Gambhir, who was seen throwing a mouthful and high-fiving his team members.
Gambhir entered the centre as players from both teams lined up to shake hands following the boisterous celebrations. When Gambhir met RCB icon Virat Kohli face-to-face, the two exchanged a short gaze and gave one other a firm handshake while Gambhir still appeared fired up. With a “finger on the lips” gesture, Gambhir was then seen calming the Chinnaswamy crowd.
Such a celebration from Gambhir has already gone viral on social media. Similar behaviour by Gambhir following a last-ball victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022 went viral online.
Whatever transpires on the pitch, the two Delhi guys have a great deal of respect for one another off it, as was demonstrated by the sweet embrace they exchanged after the tough match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
LSG’s official social media accounts posted images of a composed Gambhir hugging and conversing with Kohli. Fans were shocked by the tweet, which some described as a “miracle.”
