The basketball legend won his sixth and last NBA championship wearing the “Bred” Air Jordan 13s in Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals.

According to a BBC story, a pair of trainers originally owned by basketball legend Michael Jordan sold at auction for $2.2 million. The most expensive pair of shoes ever sold. Sotheby’s, which organised the auction, predicted that the autographed sneakers would sell for between $2 and $4 million.

In Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals, the legendary basketball player donned the “Bred” Air Jordan 13s, which helped him win his sixth and last NBA championship. His 1998 NBA jersey was sold for $10.1 million, according to the BBC, a year before to the most recent auction.

“Today’s record-breaking result further proves that the demand for Michael Jordan sports memorabilia continues to outperform and transcend all expectations,” Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s Head of Streetwear and Modern Collectables, was cited by the site as saying.
