India was eliminated from the SAFF Women’s Championship after losing 0-1 to Nepal in the semifinal match at the Dasharath Stadium in this city on Friday.

This is the first time the Indian football team has lost in the tournament’s semifinal round.

The solitary goal of the contest was scored by Rashmi Kumari Ghishing, giving the home team a victory on a muddy field.

In the opening exchanges, the home team took the initiative and launched many attacks from the left wing. However, Indian defenders Manisa Panna and Sweety Devi stayed vigilant to the threat and stopped the hosts’ attacks.
