The match between bitter rivals India and Pakistan is one of the most renowned rivalries in cricket. However, cricket matches between India and Pakistan have been few for the past nine years. These days, only the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournaments feature matches between the two sides.
The two countries have met in up to 200 international matches (Tests, ODIs, and T20Is) despite not playing any bilateral series in the previous ten years. The most recent matchup between the Men in Blue and the Men in Green took place at the T20 World Cup in Dubai last year, where Pakistan defeated India by an enormous margin of 10 wickets to win their first World Cup match.
However, despite a resounding loss to Pakistan in their most recent match, India has often outperformed Pakistan in the T20 format. Pakistan (190) and India (174), the two teams with the most T20I matches played worldwide overall, have faced off against each other just nine times in the shortest format, with India winning six times to Pakistan’s two. One of those matches, the first T20I between India and Pakistan at the 2007 T20 WC, ended in a tie, which India won via a Bowl Out.
