The tweet of the Rajasthan Royals comparing their captain Sanju Samson to the movie RRR came back to haunt them.
The Rajasthan Royals put a target of 214 runs on the board against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. The brilliant partnership of 138 runs with Jos Butler scoring 95 and Sanju Samson scoring 66 helped them score this massive target, only to get denied even because of a last ball no ball from fast bowler Sandeep Sharma. Although for most of the match, Rajasthan had their hopes up, this situation also prompted a debate-stirring tweet from the social media handle of the franchise suggesting Sanju is better than RRR.
Rajasthan Royals issue an apology for this tweet, but their opponents, Sunrisers Hyderabad, post an epic reply on the Samson RRR tweet. The tweet from SRH gained more than 30000 likes and over 4000 retweets. SRH tweeted, “This movie reached the world. So our apology should too. PS: SSS & RRR”
This chase turned out to be the highest ever in the history of SunRisers Hyderabad and also the highest at the SawaiMansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
