Shubman Gill and his sister were attacked on social media when the Gujarat Titans eliminated Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore from the Indian Premier League in 2023.
Shubman Gill, the opening batter for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2023, scored his second consecutive century on Sunday. Gill’s century propelled the Titans to another victory in the competition, but it also meant that Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore were eliminated. While both victories and losses are part of the game, some supporters were upset with RCB’s loss and began to criticise Gill on social media. Some supporters targeted Gill’s sister Shahneel, particularly after her post on Instagram following the match.
“What a wholesum day,” Gill’s sister Shahneel remarked on Instagram while posting a few photos from the match. A lot of followers left derogatory remarks on the page for both Shahneel and Shubman.
