David Warner will be the newest celebrity to join the Fox Cricket commentary crew after his spectacular double century against South Africa.

The news follows Foxtel Group’s massive $1.512 billion agreement with Cricket Australia to host Australian cricket through the year 2031.

With the addition of Warner, the impressive Fox Cricket lineup now includes Adam Gilchrist, Isa Guha, Mike Hussey, Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Kerry O’Keeffe, Brett Lee, Brendon Julian, Mel Jones, Mark Howard, and Kath Loughlin.

Warner, one of Australia’s greatest opening batters of all time, joined the Fox Cricket team, and Foxtel CEO Patrick Delany was overjoyed.

After the ground-breaking rights announcement, Delany told the media at the SCG, “I think it’s not possible to replace Shane (Warne) and Andrew (Symonds).

“We gave the idea of using the coverage a lot of attention. It’s a very, very big team when you have players with names like Gilchrist and Guha, Hussey, Border, Waugh, and Mel Jones.

“If you had to pick just one current-generation broadcaster to take the place of those two, Dave Warner would definitely come to mind.

He is exciting, a brawler, and a warrior. We’re thrilled that we’ve signed him for the present and the future because we’ve been fans of him since the first time he stepped out onto the field, which was in the Big Bash in 2011.

He will make a very, very fine cricket commentator, in my opinion.
